You know how there's a little bit in the top right hand corner with the most recent addition to anyone's list, along with a picture of that bird? Unless I am mistaken, the one which comes up when someone enters stone curlew is not a stone curlew. It's a bit hard to see from the small image, but it looks more like cream-coloured coursers.

Thanks Elizabeth. These pictures get pulled in automatically from somewhere online - clever work by Mike a few years back. It's quite possible that some of those are mislabelled - in fact, I'm quite impressed how they nearly always seem to be right! Not our photo library anyway.

Well spotted! Yes, we currently take images from
Flickr's Field Guide: Birds of the World
. There is a small link icon if you click our image to view it large, and that will take you to the original on Flickr. I've done a search there and you are absolutely correct: two images of Cream-coloured Courser were actually labelled with Burhinus oedicnemus which is Eurasian Stone-curlew! I've notified the photographer.
Cheers
