Dutch Birding LIst of WP Species
Would it be possible to add another 'listing authority' based on (or similar to) the Dutch Birding 'bird names' (see: www.dutchbirding.nl/page.php?page_id=229 ) which includes all sub-species recorded in the WP.
With this facility we would be able to create a list of 'Recognisable avian phenotypes'.

An excellent idea, Tristan. I have been chasing subspecies/forms for a long time and I would be happy to put my list on. Cheers Steve

The Dutch Birding list doesn't contain all subspecies, just a selection of the most recognisable ones.

In terms of subspecies listing, it's an interesting idea but as Steve P says, the list isn't complete in that regard. What I'd really like to do is get an entire list of world subspecies/species/superspecies into the database, in a hierarchical tree, which would then make it easier to help folk update lists when various authorities split and lump species. This isn't going to happen imminently though, until I've cleared up one or two other little projects.
For the time being, for folk keen on recording subspecies, the best option is to include the ones you've seen in the comments field against a list entry.
Cheers
Andy
