Birding for over 27 years, first in Lancashire, and then Lincolnshire, North Wales, Dorset and East Yorkshire. Now resident in Northumberland. It's all about the 'self-found', but will occasionally twitch if need for Brit List, it's not too far away, I have the time and I got out of the right side of the bed that morning.
Very recently starting Birding, as an antidote to the hustle and bustle of life. Enjoying the steep learning curve, and solitude in watching.
My birdwatching began in c1985 (aged 8) until c1992 (aged 15) and included a 12-year hiatus until recommencing in around 2004 (aged 27).
To create BUBO lists I have only been able to be 100% certain of species seen since 2014, which is when I began uploading sightings data to Bird-Track. Prior to 2014 I kept no permanent records.
There are species that I have seen between ’85-92 and from 2004 up to 2014 and where possible and confident to do so I have added them to the list with as much information as I can recall. If I cannot be sure I have seen a certain species or sighting details are sketchy, then they have been omitted from the list until seen again with 100% reliability.
I have created BUBO lists for some sites that are important to me. Mainly sites/reserves that I have birded most often due to locality or others sites that I like very much.
My local patch sites are RSPB Fairburn Ings and Swillington Ings (RSPB St. Aidan's) and lists have also been created for RSPB Blacktoft Sand (visited regular since '85), RSPB Frampton Marsh (fave site) and Spurn Point.
All lists are of visual sightings.
I have been birding since I was about seven years old when I was bought a copy of the collins gem guide to british birds.
First bird that caught my imagination was a great spotted woodpecker thst flew up in front of me as I enteted Bishops field woods in Fareham.
I ws hooked !!! I have been a bird watcher as opposed to a twitcher, thus my list is not thst extensive.
Now getting my two year old son hooked as well.

Paulo Boute
Paulo Boute was born in 1963, in a coffee ranch near the Iguassu Falls, where he got in touch with birds at a very early age. He moved to Mato Grosso in 1979, starting guiding professionally at the Pantanal in 1982. Ten years later, Paulo founded Boute Expeditions, which became the oldest Birding company in Brazil and since then has offered over a thousand trips to the Pantanal and other major Brazilian destinations, such as Atlantic & Amazon Forest, Iguassu Falls and Northeast & South regions of Brazil. In 1988 he got a Bachelor degree in Agronomy at University of Mato Grosso, providing him a vast knowledge about the ecology of Amazon and Pantanal.
Birding with Paulo Boute represents a unique experience of seeing Nature like the old and good times when a good companion and the sharing of the same passion for birdlife were what counted for.
Among the hundreds of great birders Paulo has guided, Dr. Roger Tory Peterson and Hubert Lehaen( Site in Dutch) will always have a special place on his memory as very good friends and the inspiration for having every single tour as a chance to improve his skills, aiming to be a better professional and birdwatcher

Keen walker with a general interest in Nat Hist, especially butterflies - lots of relaxed local birding with the occasional twitch, often with my young daughter in tow. Woeful-looking list is mainly because I need to trawl through loads of old diaries to get the dates for the rarities! Good organisation of my part - I'll slowly update it!
Programmer, hobbyist photographer
Founder of the infamous CCC's - Comberbach Casuals Club, a British listing phenomenon just ask Lego.
WesternPal and World birder slightly biased towards SE Asia cos thats where real birders go (according to Gregs).
Recently joined the 500 club in UK and what a journey its been.
Former keen UK twitcher now focused on local birding with particular emphasis on my local patch Holland Haven in Essex.
Professional ornithologist who prefers vis mig, seawatching and local patching to twitching these days. Some nagging twitching regrets: notably missing Varied Thrush, Ancient Murrulet & Yellow-throated Vireo when could easily have seen all three if I had seriously let other people down (e.g. the rest of the ceilidh band in the case of the Varied Thrush).

I'm a (usually!) non-twitching birder, and I spend much of my time on my local patch in the Loxley Valley, Sheffield. Other regular haunts include Old Moor RSPB and Agden Side.
There's some embarassing omissions on my lists, but they're slowly getting filled...

Casual Birdwatcher whilst travelling but enjoy lists! Started birdwatching with another lister - Kevin Bollington - in the early 70's. Have drifted off and come back to birdwatching over the years = but now semi-retired and looking forward to a few bespoke special location trips. Also trying to photograph birds, finding it harder than I thought. They won't stay still!!!!
