My response wasn't quite correct so to be clear, Ruddy Shelduck is officially on the British List but in category B and "Last recorded in an apparently wild state in 1946. All subsequent records are considered to be of British or European captive origin" so it is only countable if you saw one in 1946 or earlier!

Also relevant to Ireland and I’ve just flagged in a separate post under a different topic - if there’s an (implied / theoretical) work-around for an observer who saw a 1946 Ruddy Shelduck in GB would be useful to know for purposes of full/ historical area listing
