Exmoor Hawkweed (Hieracium eminentiforme) missing from PSL

Hi,

just noticed that Exmoor Hawkweed (Hieracium eminentiforme) isn't available in the database but I think all other hawkweeds are!

There are some other missing plants too, for which I think you are still waiting for a BSBI/UKSI update, but I was baffled by the above omission given some of the obscure Hieracia already included!

I only mention it as I saw it near Exmoor the other week :)

Thanks,

J

Hi John

On UKSI it's a synonym for Hieracium sabaudum. Whether this is part of the (massive!) set of updates from BSBI to UKSI or not I don't know. Andy may know more. In fact, he's somewhere down that way on holoday at the moment. Maybe he needs a site for it?!

Hi Mike,

thank you. You had me worried that it had been sunk (Redpolls of the Hawkweed world) but they are still different species, albeit same section, phew! I hope the update will add it. Incidentally, H. eminentiforme was first described by Pugsley and H. sabaudum by Linnaeus and the names surprisingly remain unaltered so I've learnt something new.

It's by the bridge on Parson's Street, Porlock if Andy or others passing...also Oxalis tetraphylla nearby!

Thanks again,

John

Thanks both - have now added to the PSL checklist.

I didn't get that far this week, but will try to remember to check it out next time I visit that area!

Cheers
