I started birding casually in 1963, then seriously in 1973.Visited Cape Clear Island ,SW Ireland regularly in the 70's & early 80's. Capes a fantastic place for finding your own good birds & seabirding. I did my fair share of twitching, seeing some great birds over the years. The 1978 Cheddar Wallcreeper being a personal favourite. After a period in the doldrums in the 90's, when I went through a personal crisis, I did very little serious birding. I got into it again seriously in 1999, but now with a different approach. I enjoy all wildlife watching. My main birding interests are pelagic seabirding, Gull i.d., birds of prey, Phylloscopus Warblers & self-found . I have given up serious twitching as I am no longer able to drive & have other commitments but the occasional long stayer will tempt me. The 2009 Staines Moor Brown Shrike being an example.
Besides wildlife & plants, I have an interest in historical aviation, railway history (the steam era) & history.

A active birder in Minnesota and a professional bird guide for northeastern Minnesota. I been guiding people from all over for 25 years!
I have birded all over Europe, in the U.S.A. and Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Costa Rica, Belize, Mexico, Dominican Republic, The Gambia, Cape Verde, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Tanzania and most recently Grand Cayman. I have run The Gloster Birder website since August 2000, which has grown into a monster from humble beginnings, and could easily be a full-time job.
I was born in Hampshire but most of my formative birding years were spent in Sussex, including many fruitless hours staring at the sea off Worthing. Plenty of birding done whilst otherwise studying for a degree at Bristol University. Thereafter I spent 18 months in Israel (Didric Cuckoo plus a few hundred thousand migrating raptors), and a few years back in the UK (Sussex, Bedfordshire and Berkshire), whilst I now find myself living in Bangalore, India.
I am currently working as full-time Dad and part-time developer of BUBO Listing, and have just completed a contract working for the BTO on BirdTrack.
My latest birding trips include NE India (Arunachal Pradesh and Assam) where I managed to see Bugun Liocichla amongst other goodies, and a family holiday to Morocco which still managed a few birds including Atlas Flycatcher and Dupont's Lark.
