I have been birding since 1976. I lived in California until 1998 when I moved to Nevada hence my interest in California and Nevada county listing. I also keep lists of each state I have visited as well as a World, ABA and ABA Continental list. After retiring from my day job in 2007 I went to work for Great Basin Bird Observatory (GBBO) from 2008 to 2013. I was also a member of the Nevada Bird Records Committee from 2003 to 2013.

Getting a bit long in the tooth and my trip to Brazil in 2006 might be my last adventure of that nature. [I said 'might'] So my activity is almost exclusively limited to East Sussex - which is not a bad area to concentrate on. I am a licensed ringer but I have scaled down my actiivity in this field too.

Dibyendu is an avid traveller and has been roaming across India’s tiger reserves, national parks and other protected areas, and honing his skills as a spotter, naturalist and photographer.
Dibyendu Ash started reading his mother’s zoology books as a teenager when he and that is where his interest for nature was inculcated. He continued building upon his knowledge of zoology and interest in animal skull craft, although he pursued mathematics and joined the IT sector. He met Tamanud in Cognizant Technology Solutions, and later Soumyajit, and in their company was drawn towards nature and wildlife photography.
Some of his work has been published in some domestic and International journals, books, newspapers, postcards etc.
