Martin Ryder

Detailed listing still in progress. As far as I know first native Salop birder to see 500 BOU British Birds. Only taken 47 years! Many happy memories and friendships along the way. Remembering Tony Butcher[Sudbury] who, during the early days, introduced me to many East Anglian sites and once pointed out the distinguished bird artist and ornithologist R.A.Richardson ' The Bird Man of Cley ' at East Bank, Cley wearing distinctive leather jacket, beret and just about to mount his Norton motorcycle. Different days. Also Bernard Bond[Cheltenham} - we travelled many a mile together in quest of birds. A good companion. A big thank you to all the rarity finders. Not too many rarities in Shropshire! Multiple early sightings of commoner birds shown for nostalgia reasons.
