Past Coordinator, Australian Bird and Bat Banding Scheme. Biometrician. Wader watcher. Casual birder.
Based in Essex but occasionally found elsewhere across southern England. Current MA student in Sports Journalism (I know - nothing to do with PSL but having two hobbies is healthy, right?!)
Started listing birds in 2009 (aged 6) and slowly branched out into 'other stuff' around 2014/15. Focused on birding primarily until 2023 but now avid amateur PSL'er!
Hi, I’m Ben, and I am a very keen birdwatcher, not leaving out wildlife as well. I started birdwatching when I was about 6 years old and just carried on since. I am older now so people have been commenting on how good my knowledge is about wildlife, particularly birds. I am based in Suffolk, and visit a couple of the Suffolk reserves a few times a year. Obviously, I don’t birdwatch as much as I would like, because I am at school. But on the weekends I try and do a little then, even if it is round my golf course. Yes I do play golf, and I always look forward to a great day of birdwatching. I also have my local patch at Bosmere Lake, which hold Great-crested Grebes, Reed Warblers and the odd Common Tern.
TV Researcher, writer and keen ornithologist with interest in breeding birds, nest recording and travelling in search of new species across the Western Palearctic and the Middle East.
