In the absence of a Canadian national organisation maintaining a checklist of the birds of Canada, our Canada list is based on the Avibase list, and will be kept up to date following Clements taxonomy. Keen Canadian listers may also be interested in Canadian Listers Corner.

Subsets of this list are maintained for the provinces and territories of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Québec, Saskatchewan and Yukon, as well as Saint Pierre and Miquelon.
