Is my sighting of aSnow Goose at Blenheim Palace a valid sighting or Should this be regarded as a captive bird?

Hi Ian - I think most birders would not consider this a wild bird

Not quite as simple as that because the species is on both Categories A and C of the British List so also countable on an official list if it is part of a self-sustaining population? The Blenheim population was mentioned in the 2005 Ibis paper but at that stage, it was not self-sustaining. Not sure what has happened in the 12 years since?

down to 130 now though so will have to take it a bit more seriously this year!
