Hooded merganser at Tayport

Quite alot has been discussed with regards to the Hooded merganser at Radipole, but, can anyone shead any light of the Scotland bird. Are the characteristics and time of arrival etc conducive with a wild bird??
I appreciate this is a dufficult question to answer as there are kept in captive, any comments would be appreciated.
