Co.Durham or Durham?

Hi,

I've noticed whilst up-dating and checking my "Durham" list if you go to the User Menu and enter a search for "Durham" in the View All lists option you get the choice of Co. Durham, Durham ( and Durham, England (10).

If you open the Co.Durham option you only get a list of 5 Listers lists and if you open the Durham option you get 8 listers lists...Hope this makes sense?!?

As both these list options refer to the same County could they not be combined? I think i may have started off the "Durham" list but others have opted to use Co.Durham. Which is the correct name i don't know!

Anyway just a thought, any other "Durham" listers have a view?

If anyone needs reminding County Durham has recorded Glaucous Winged Gull, Eastern Crowned Warbler, White Throated Robin, Sandhill Crane, Sibe Rubythroat, Amur Wagtail, Common Nighthawk, Brown Headed Cowbird, P.G.Tips and the recent Orphean Warbler among others in the last few (ish) years alone. Not to bad for a small recording area!

Thanks Ian - I'm happy to combine the two if a decision can be made as to whether Durham or Co Durham! Wouldn't like to transgress some unwritten law without guidance! Might never dare venture north of the Tees again...

Hi Andy,

I've asked a few Durham listers this weekend and it appears Co.Durham is the correct title...If you could combine the lists that would be great and more people on one list might encourage more list shy birders to join in the fun!

A lot of birders up North are more than a little interested in County Listing but not too keen on having them on-line!

Would be good to see you and maybe a couple of thousand others just north of the Tees again soon!!

Thanks for that Andy, looks fine although young Harry Murphy features on the list twice! Unless there are two Harry murphy's of course...
