IOC World List Updated

Now updated to the latest v5.4. Will keep you busy if you've seen lots of Dwarf Kingfishers :-)

As always taxonomic updates can be applied as per www.bubo.org/News/taxonomic-updates-in-bubo-listing.html .

But one of the Dwarf Kingfishers got lost on the way. Can't find Moluccan Dwarf (and that's the only one i've seen!), probably because the group got split, but the original Variable became Moluccan Dwarf.

Ah yes, thanks for pointing that out. Have added it properly now. Note that Clements split Moluccan further as well, although IOC stopped short there :-)

Sorry—I can't find African Swamphen (the 6th species from the Purple Swamphen split) in the IOC list.

Ah, it's on the list; it's just not in the pop-up explanation of the split.

African Swamphen was already a separate species and not one of the latest Swamphen splits, which is why it doesn't appear as a new split in the explanatory note.

Aha! Thank you, Mike.

One more question, and then I'm finished with the latest updates:

Under 'My Lists', my Clements world life list is still highlighted in yellow, but when I open the list and click on your 'only pending taxonomic updates', it finds no records, and I can find no species / species groups highlighted in yellow within the list when I look through it myself.

Any thoughts?

Thank you again,

Charles

Looks ok now Charles - part of our taxonomic update happens offline and there is sometimes a delay with finalising updates: due to a bug I can't fix :-)

Thanks for the update on the update. It's nice to catch them early. I got one AT -- Grass Wren. At my age, I am grateful for any.
