Clements 2021 Updates

Hi Mike,
While doing my Clements updates I came up several species short from what I thought I should have. Upon investigating I found the following: 
1. The Mayan/Black-faced  Antthrush and the Scrub/Mexican Euphonias were split but not highlighted.
2. The Rufous-capped/Chestnut-capped Warbler split was not captured in your update
3. The three way split of Grayish Saltator into Blue-gray, Olivaceous and Cinnamon-bellied was not captured in your updates.

Well done for spotting the update! I haven't finished doing them all yet: there are a lot! A few more are still to go and will be complete later today.

Well done for getting such a big update done so quickly.
The alerts that I got did miss one species, Turquoise-crowned Hummingbird which is split from Broad-billed. I see it is now on the list so maybe it was one of the few you were still working on when Dennis commented. All those he mentioned came up in my alert.

Thanks Steve. All the splits and lumps are now done, but there are a few that won't show as pending (for a technical behind-the-scenes issue that I won't go in to!). Thus you should check the following, and manually add/remove any species if necessary.

Broad-billed Hummingbird: split into Broad-billed Hummingbird and Turquoise-crowned Hummingbird

• listers who had recorded Broad-billed Hummingbird previously will still have this on their lists. If you have seen Turquoise-crowned then you will need to add this (and remove Broad-billed if you haven't seen both)

Black-faced Antthrush: split into Black-faced Antthrush and Mayan Antthrush

• as above, Mayan Antthrush may need to be added if that is the taxon you have seen, and Black-faced Antthrush may need to be removed 

Paramo Tapaculo: split into Paramo Tapaculo and Loja Tapaculo

• as above, Loja Tapaculo may need to be added if that is the taxon you have seen, and Paramo Tapaculo may need to be removed 
• note also that White-winged, Ampay, and Jalca Tapaculos are all newly recognised species

Red-billed Woodcreeper: split into Red-billed Woodcreeper and Uniform Woodcreeper

• as above, Uniform Woodcreeper may need to be added if that is the taxon you have seen, and Red-billed Woodcreeper may need to be removed 

Taliabu Bush Warbler: newly described species

• although there is a related split of Chestnut-backed Bush Warbler, Taliabu is actually a newly described species and won't be highlighted as part of the split

Abyssinian White-eye: split into Abyssinian White-eye and Socotra White-eye

• as above, Socotra White-eye may need to be added if that is the taxon you have seen, and Abyssinian White-eye may need to be removed 

Rufous Antpitta: the complex now consists of 14 species, some of which were split from the old taxon but some identified as totally new species

• the prompt will show which species result from the split, but if you have seen any of the newly described species these are less obvious as they won't be highlighted

I still need to add range details, and apply more name changes and sequence rearranging, which will take a day or two: I'll post a news article when this is all complete. Everyone should be able to process their updates now anyway, provided you can manage it without our hints regarding range of the new splits!
