IOC update V11.2

Hi,

It looks like IOC update V11.2 is not fully implemented.
Two families are missing: Parrotbills & Allies (Paradoxornithidae) and Alcippe Fulvettas (Alcippeidae).
I noticed this because the Yellow-eyed Babbler I've seen was suddenly included in the Sylviid Babblers!
According to V11.2 it is a member of the Parrotbills & Allies.
The Alcippe Fulvettas are a whole new family.
Could you please update the lists, so the World List and Family List are up to date again?

Thank you very much!
Thijs

Thanks for spotting that. I've now reassigned species to these two families.

Wow, that's fast! Thank you Mike!

Also about the world lists: can you explain me why the Oos are still mentioned on them? I guess there might be more extinct families, but why are the Oos still on the lists and the others not?
It also means it's impossible to see all the bird families of the World list...

Cheers,
Thijs

That's a good question, never thought about that! We do have extinct species on the checklist since IOC include them based on specific criteria . (Generally those that became extinct since the early 1500s.) We do prevent them from being added to any personal list: they are marked "unavailable for listing". The Oos are the first time I've come across an entirely extinct family - I don't think there are any others, at least since early 1500s? Hence I never thought about what to do in this situation when lists are summarised by family!
If you are in the fortunate position to be close to having seen all the families in the world, I can understand that one impossible family would make the family list look annoying, as the late Jon Hornbuckle's does of course! I'll see how easy it is to suppress any extinct families from this.

Families with all extinct species in are now excluded from this.
