Although the American Ornithologists' Union (AOU) updated its checklist several months ago, the ABA (covering continental North America only) has not published any updates to its checklist since November 2008. Since ABA normally follows the recommendations of AOU, we have (following requests from BUBO Listers) taken the liberty of making two pending splits for the ABA: Eastern & Mexican Whip-poor-wills, and Winter & Pacific Wrens. Other changes (including extensive changes to species order and family-level taxonomy) will not be applied until published by ABA.
Note that if you already had Whip-poor-will or Winter Wren on any of your ABA lists you should now be prompted to process the taxonomic changes.
