Mexican jay was created by Richard Banks
Had a bit of a wobble adding Mexican jay to my AZ, USA and IOC lists. The IOC addition was rejected. I see Sibley Western North America First Edition 2003 has Aphelocoma ultramarina (which IOC says is now Transvolcanic jay) whereas National Geographic field guide sixth edition has Aphelocoma wollweberi which is as it is on the IOC list.

This site really isn't up to date with list modifications - for example they haven't manifested the split in this genus of Western Scrub-Jay into California and Woodhouse's and the situation with Common Moorhen is "complicated" to say the least. So don't expect the Bubo nominally AOU list to be definitive. The ABA list is at:
listing.aba.org/checklist/abachecklist_v7.9.0.pdf
and the AOU list is at:
checklist.aou.org/
and these reflect the reality on the ground.

Correct, unfortunately we don't have too much time for updates these days and so concentrate on the most popular lists only. This is primarily IOC and Clements, plus some very popular countries, e.g. Britain. AOU and ABA we will try to address in the next few weeks.
Cheers
