Location info on map

How would mapping lifers be? It should not be hard to add a globe icon next to each lifer line in our list linking to Google Map or Bing map or anything else. We, users, could add a marker where we have seen the certain bird for the first time. It would draw a nice map, by time, of the most diverse areas of the world. It would be a great fun.

Just an idea. :)

It would be great Szimi, and thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I'm not sure when we'd have time to add this feature. We run BUBO in our very limited spare time and (mostly, apart from a few generous souls) at our own expense. We'll add it to the list of suggested improvements though. Maybe one day we'll have the time or resources to make all the changes people have suggested!

Best wishes

Andy

I am not sure if my small donation helps but I plan to transfer some bucks. My feature request is not a must. I am happy if I can store my records here in BuBo. Nor worries. :) The most important issue is to keep the site alive.

Thanks Szimi - that would be really great and much appreciated! Will crack on with the IOC updates. Have done some of the easy tweaks already. Next to do the splits and lumps. Then finally I need to re-order the whole lot, seeing as they seem to have gone crazy with the babblers....

Cheers

I have worked on my spreadsheet list for two days  :woohoo: but now it is done. The problem is with the IOC master file which is a crap.

I am sure you will solve the splits easily as there are not too many. Only one species have to be deleted. ;)

Are we getting notification if you are ready or I should just visit my account regularly?

Cheers, Szimi

Now sorted (except for the sort order...). Easiest way to deal with it is to click on My Lists, select your IOC list, click Batch Edit, then click on the little "one bird to two birds" icon on the right-hand side. This should tell you which splits and lumps you need to consider. I just had two to deal with (which didn't gain me anything, as I only had one of the new splits on each occasion!)

Cheers
