Which reminds me...

Still awaiting the somewhat overdue updates on this site for version 6.6 of Clements (August 23rd 2011) - includes some significant gains for world listers.

Agree, that lists are updated quite slowly but on the other hand we have to understand that owners are managing this site as a hobby and try to serve us for free. :)

Question is how we can help them? ;)

Hi Guys

Thanks for the understanding

Both Andy and I have been majorly tied up with (less interesting but more important!) work this year which means updates have been less frequent than we would like. Our support of multiple (more than 100) authorities worldwide is a major difference between BUBO Listing and other listing/sighting recording websites and we believe is a key advantage that makes BUBO ideal for listers wherever in the world. However it does mean that it takes a long time for us to keep checklists up to date as taxonomies change.

The August Clements updates in particular involve many taxonomic changes and are very time-consuming. The latest IOC update looks rather simpler at a quick glance. We will try to address both of these in the next couple of weeks.

We have started work on some updates which would mean it is easier for other BUBO Listers to update the base checklists directly. Unfortunately this has stagnated due to our personal lack of time, but we will look at this again as a priority area for the future.

I'm pleased to announce (about 15 hours work later :( ) that the Clements updates are now live: several splits so most world listers will find they have a few "armchair" ticks to apply.

As always, you will be notified if you have taxonomic changes outstanding .

Yep, well done Mike. Two armchair ticks for me - Indian Golden Oriole and Mexican Moorhens! The former was a stunner, the latter I have to admit I can't remember a great deal about!

Hot on the heels of Mike's Clements updates, I have now implemented the latest IOC updates too. Only one addition for me (following the Hen Harrier/Northern Harrier split) but plenty more there for others I'm sure.

As always, you will be notified if you have taxonomic changes outstanding .
