PSL Teething troubles

Well done Mike & Andy on introducing the PSL feature to BUBO.

Here's a thread where people can point out any teething troubles. One from me:

- If I try to edit my PSL from the My Lists table, unlike other lists, it just returns me to the table.
- If I attempt a Batch Edit, I'm not shown the entire list, just my already-added species.
- Add Species just takes me to the list display, not to the Add functionality that I get for other lists.

The upshot seems to be that I can't add any new species. Feel free to mock mercilessly if I'm making some sort of fundamental error (I don't think I am though).
 

Ah, thanks Steve. Hmm, I see what you mean. This was working yesterday. We'll look into it ASAP.

That was me, trying to fix a bug with pagination and instead making things worse! It should all be working ok again now. Except the pagination, which I'll figure out later...
 

One more little glitch I found this morning: filtering by taxonomic group only seems to work when the list is sorted in taxonomic sequence.

Thanks for reporting this. I'll look into it, but not for a few weeks now as I'm soon off to India to see a few thousand Amur Falcons!

Some more taxonomic groups will be coming to PSL listing soon despite this!
 

Hi guys,

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong here but I've followed instructions to 'Create New List', selected the 'Britain, Ireland, Isle of Man & Channel Islands (PSL)' and then to 'Copy from existing list'. From the selection I chose my 'Britain Life List BOU' list. All looked OK, it created the new list fine but didn't copy across any of the species\info from the list I selected.

I did try to 'Combine Lists' and go through the same process but receive the following error saying it couldn't do it:

"More than 300 species have not been added from your British Ornithologists' Union Britain list could not be copied automatically because of taxonomic and/or distribution differences. Note that full details of these have been emailed to you."

Is there a way I can get this to work?

Hi Nigel - we haven't yet included birds on the pan-species list, they're coming later. That's why they won't copy across. Keep watching this space and we'll announce when we add them.
