Hi all, really impressed with the new PSL list, easy to use and a joy to input records. I’m currently on the last leg of transferring records onto this platform, that of my botanical species. I use Stace 4 as my reference and have noticed that many ssp and hybrids published there are not on Bubo (some are). There are also a few non-Stace species showing up - out of interest, what is BUBO’s point of reference for the botanical listing? Within botanical circles identifiable ssp and hybrids are fair game to count as a lifer. I’m losing quite a few species from my PSL plant list on here at the moment…help!

Thanks Steven, glad you're enjoying it! We've started out by using anything listed on the UK Species Inventory as a species. We then manually brought in all the hybrids that are given a separate numbered entry in Stace, but largely left the others out. However, we've also brought in a few other plants that people have drawn our attention to, in advance of an anticipated revamp of the UKSI's plants. We'll keep this under review, and if you pull together a list of other missing species then let us know (in one go, rather than one at a time!) and we'll look into adding them.

No subspecies though - I don't think it makes sense to have a system where you could tick both a species plus one or more of its subspecies.

Cheers

Andy

Thanks Andy. I will supply you with a list of assumed missing species (or at least hybrids) after I have completed the entries.
