Hong Kong - becoming an editor

The Hong Kong list is still out of date, despite the attention I drew to it through

But anyway, I would be glad to take on the role of a checklist editor, as Mike Prince suggests. I hope to do what I can to help.

I've just updated the Hong Kong list, and made you an editor: thanks very much for volunteering. I've emailed you some details about how to edit the list.

I've brought the list up to date with the latest IOC taxonomy, and applied some splits automatically where I could. There will be a couple that will remain pending on people's lists for them to deal with manually, e.g. Arctic and Japanese Leaf Warblers, and Blue-and-white and Zappey's Flycatchers.

There is a slight discrepancy with our list currently showing 554 species and HKBWS 552. This might be because of species on our list that should be category III species and hence need deleting. I'll leave you to find out whether this is the case or not and deal with it!
