been birding 29 years, central to fairburn ,anglers and pugneys park wakefield area.birds east coast mainly, mostly spurn area,welder,51 years old
Birding since the age of 5, went through a patch of serious twitching, followed by the discovery of alcohol and women. Recovered to find myself birding mainly in Suffolk, but occasionally when I can get the approapriate visas, elswhere in the UK. Trying to slowly get my WP List up, having mainly gone on holidays to more far flung corners of the earth.
Have been twitching in the UK since 1976 and globally since 2001. Most birding trips abroad are out of season due to the work constraints of teaching which means that holidays dates are not flexible.
Reformed twitcher, now nester and ringer, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't keep count every year. Lack of driving licence some excuse for relatively low UK list, but no excuse for lack of driving licence. Hoping this will encourage me to do a bit more birding (outside the nesting season, at any rate).
Long time rock-climber, and part-time birder. Father of Andy, and Grand-dad to Tom. Most of my active birding was during the mid 1980s before Andy could drive! However, always interested in any local wildlife and always take bins and field guide on foreign holidays. Update 2009 - This listing lark is getting a bit too addictive!
Started birding in 1982 but did not start twitching until I moved to Norfolk in 1988. My last real Twitch was to the Red-flanked Bluetail at Thorpeness in 2006. Although I did venture on to the wild side and went to Billingham to see the Glaucous-winged Gull in Jan 2009

Started birding in 2009 and began a list just to see what I had actually seen .. Now interested in seeing the list grow but without becoming too obsessive about it.
A fairly new birder have only been watching birds since 2006 and only include a species when I have a verified photo of the bird.Look forward to seeing many more and chatting to the knowledgable people here and those I may meet in the field
Thanks Dave
I have just retired and am a beginner to this subject but i am actively enjoying it. Any help or advice would be appeciated
