From London and Kent, started twitching with Larry Wheatland at Essex University 1982. Pegwall Bay, Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory and Stodmarsh local patches in UK. Since 1988 resident in Humboldt County, California USA. Returned on occassion (2009, 2010, 2012).
Very much a beginner. I am also a collector of Subbuteo and run the odd marathon.
Started out on burgundy, but soon hit the harder stuff
been a serious birder for thirty odd years, use to twitch but now more interested in local patch. ex ringer, now mainly into bird photography.
Currently based in Suffolk, UK. Been birding 40+ years and working in conservation for 20. Don't have many targets but 1000 species in Africa now achieved! Keen interest in other wildlife too especially UK moths.
Currently studying a Degree in Ecology, I massively enjoy Birding and am currently in training to be a licensed Ringer.
Nearing retirement will make more use of time to provide better listings- Newhaven is my WEBS area.
Spent most of my life in the Black Country but migrated north to Stafford in 2003 after retirement.Started birding in 1956 and hardly stopped since. I did not start twitching until the mid seventies and got my 500th BOU tick in 2008. I have watched birds on every continent but my favourites are still the ones I see in my garden.I do however love South America and more latterly Asian birds. My best birding mate is my son and my best birding friend is my wife who has nearly always understood and supported my birding activities ! I am a BTO member and am an active member of the West Midland Bird Club.My local patches include around my villages of Ingestre and Tixall.Perhaps my greatest find was a Belted Kingfisher at Tixall on April 1st 2005.Cannock Chase is 15 minutes from where I live.I am a Blithfield WMBC warden and leader of the WMBC Blithfield Birders 'Group.
Began birding in the UK (Yorkshire & Devon) in the 1950s. Moved to Canada in 1962 & have birded through most of Canada & much of the US. Extensive stays in Trinidad, Qatar, & Japan. Shorter birding trips to Costa Rico & India. Now focused on birds of Ontario & my 'local patch' of the Ottawa region.
Work for conservationn organisation Operation Wallacea after a career in Science education. Background PhD sea turtles in Greece.

15 years birding around Pune, India with some visits to other parts of the country. In recent times I've been birding in California and Washington.
I'm a post-graduate student of wildlife biology and conservation in Bangalore, India. I started birding at the age of 14 years in my hometown Nagpur and have since then traveled to various parts of the country. Now in the sudden realisation that my checklists have grown at a very slow rate, I'm twitching to get to my 500!
I am a nature lover. Birds and butterflies are my best pals, they sing for me and i strive to preserve them. I want my grand children and the upcoming generations to see the birds and butterflies i see today. I also enjoy hosting birders and butterfly watchers to hotspot areas in Nagaland.

Watching birds since 1974...
I finally retired just over three years ago as a burnt out Social Worker! So now, I spend a lot of time Birdwatching (Birding not Twitching). I am a member of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Essex Wildlife Trust and British Trust for Ornithology.
I have had a lifelong passion for wildlife, Birdwatching has been my intermittent hobby since I was young, intermittent because during my growing up, I discovered other activities and of course girls! One girlfriend became my wife in 1970 (Phew...married 43years). I am a father of two and also a grandfather of two. Most of the time is spent birdwatching in Essex and in particular the R.S.P.B. at Rainham Marsh.
