I'm very lucky to live in the centre of the Peak District, only having left for three years whilst at uni in Bangor, North Wales - which may i say is equaly beautiful! Since being a child i have always been interested in wildlife and the natural world, dying to get up at the crack of dawn to go out in search of nature. However only since January of 2007 have i really gone out with the sole purpose of birding with my bins, my notebook, pencil, and guide should i come accross a real treat that i can't identify! Locally Carsington Water offers a great day birding and very rarely do you come away seeing less than 50 species. Looking forward to my next long weekend from work for a much awaited trip to Norfolk - that should increase the 2008 year list some what!
