Birding since I could look out of a pram (I think!). Mostly local with holidays. Unlikely to twitch unless really local (although did go to Cley for the sparrow!). Often seen with 'scope-toting family (Sandra, Hazel and Jono). Get as much excitement out of a dodgy black swan in Oulton Broad as seeing the American Bittern down the road. Love Kenya, Tanzania and Scotland. Highlights to have found a Palla's Warbler in local park and got name in print in county report, and to have been walking along the North wall at Minsmere as Suffolk's King Eider was spotted (without my scope doh! - thank you whoever let me have a look through theirs!), and on Minsmere beach as news broke of 'Swampy'.
Cambridgeshire birder since 1998. Formerly resident in Essex. Former Cambridgeshire County Recorder.
County bird recorder West Glam. Never happier than when I'm out birding with friends and meeting other birders.
Founder member of BUBO, originally from Leeds, meeting the BUBO lads in Bristol. After that I did a year in Israel before returning to Leeds. I moved to Guernsey in 1998. Some people might sneer about including Channel Islands stuff on my British List but I really don't care!!
Birded 70's, AWOL 80's through to 1997 when effectively began again. Only Asian Desert Warbler remains unseen again in UK since '97. In New Zealand Oct 2001- Feb 2002. Moved to Tampere, Finland with work in May 2007
Having always loved looking at birds I only became interested in keeping records in 2008. This has now led me into becoming a tad obsessive over bees and butterflies as well. An attempt to make my garden wildlife friendly is slowly coming together with lots of wild flower plantings. Bubo has a lot to answer for.

Started birding c1989, regularly twitching 1993 - 2001, then put the bins and scope down until I got back into casual birding late 2007. Been moth recording since 1998, now VC55 Leics. & Rutland CMR. Compiled first PSL list in November 2011 at 1983sp., reached 4000 on 24/09/2023. Mainly moths and other inverts these days. Will add dates/sites for more interesting species as and when I can be minded to.

The Birding Beyond Boundaries was created to promote universal access to ALL facilities, services and resources for bird watchers and Birding.
It is one of our missions to teach the vast majority of the general public that they realise that disability is not that the individual has a problem but that it is the inflexibility and dysfunction of the majority of the general public not caring or catering for all needs within society
We will ensure that we educate, teach, encourage and cajole everyone who can influence and change this for the better. To get society to realise that better provisions and concepts do not necessarily need to cost more and often cost less but also realise that it can be just a matter of design changes that will ensure access for ALL
Birding Beyond Boundaries will be open to ALL disadvantaged, disabled and able-bodied alike no difference will ever be made. We want to set up a NETWORK of people who are able and willing to help others who are less able pursue Birding as a hobby.
Started (semi-)seriously birding in the North-East around 1992, but had been interested since childhood. Based in Sunderland since late 2006; Newcastle before that. Enjoy getting to grips with new birds in far-flung places, under my own steam.

We are three brothers based in South Africa, i personally lived in the UK for 8 years, Birding has been part of our lives for as long as we can recall, between our parents and close family friends the lists started early in life....
In recent times we have tried to formalise our ramblings and efforts to document what we see, as we explore the list gets longer.
